TOP 3 SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITE PICKS

- Netvibes.com - This RSS feed reader has built in widgets that pull in your social media networks (Facebook, MySpace, etc.), weather, stocks and even previews of your e-mail. It’s great for setting up dashboard-type home pages for executives.
- ooVoo.com - Think Internet phone calls (for free in the U.S. and Canada), then add video, then add the ability to video conference up to six people at once, plus add chat, file sharing and more. This service is fantastic for organizations with multiple locations or groups of colleagues in different cities who need to meet regularly.
- CommonCraft.com - Go there and watch their “In Plain English” videos. They cover social media, RSS, twitter, bookmarking and more. You will learn more in 30 minutes watching CommonCraft videos than you’ll learn in attending any major conference.
And, of course, there’s my personal blog, SocialMediaExplorer.com. I don’t write about the basic very often, but I do offer opinion, insight and analysis of social media, public relations and marketing communications that you might find interesting.
